 RELEASE OF THE SKILAK GLACIER-DAMMED LAKE HAS ENDED

THE KENAI RIVER GAGE JUST BELOW SKILAK LAKE CRESTED AT 11:30 PM  MONDAY AND WATER LEVELS AT THE STREAM GAGE HAVE STARTED TO FALL.

THE KENAI RIVER AT SOLDOTNA HAS CRESTED EARLY TUESDAY MORNING AND  WILL FALL SIGNIFICANTLY OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

WATER LEVELS ON THE LOWER KENAI RIVER DOWNSTREAM FROM SKILAK LAKE ARE  EXPECTED TO DROP 2 TO 3 FEET THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

THIS SKILAK GLACIER-DAMMED RELEASE EVENT APPEARS TO BE TYPICAL IN  TERMS OF VOLUME AND TIMING. AN AERIAL FLIGHT WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR  LATER THIS WEEK TO CONFIRM THAT THE LAKE AS COMPLETELY DRAINED.

THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT BE UPDATED.
