Mission, Programs & Charitable Status

ADFG StudyMission

Kenai River Sportfishing Association (KRSA) is dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of the world's premier sportfishing river - the Kenai. The Association's areas of responsibility encompass the Kenai River watershed, the greater Cook Inlet basin and Alaska.

Programs

  • Habitat: KRSA fosters habitat conservation and restoration to maintain and improve the Kenai River watershed for sustainable fisheries. 
  • Fisheries Management: KRSA promotes sound management systems that are scientifically based, sustainable and result in predictable and meaningful sport and personal use fishing opportunity. 
  • Research: KRSA funds and conducts fishery, economic, and conservation research to advance information for management of sustainable fisheries. 
  • Education: KRSA provides public education, scholarships, and outreach to promote stewardship of fisheries resources. 

Charitable Status 

KRSA is a qualified 501(c)3 tax-exempt institution and is eligilble to receive tax-deductible gifts under IRS regulations. Contributions through donations and sponsorships above $250 from individuals and corporations to KRSA will receive a charitable contribution report form, as required by law.  A charitable deduction is limited to the excess, if any, of a contribution over the value of the goods or services provided. The charitable contribution report should be retained and is an important document necessary for any federal income tax deduction that may be available.
